Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139: 23-24 NIV
This is one of my early morning "cheats." When I make pancakes for my family, I always at least double the recipe and freeze the extras. I let them cool before I put them into a container so that they do not stick together once frozen. Then, whenever I'm having a harder morning or want a special treat for the kids, I take out a few and heat them in the microwave. They turn out wonderfully and breakfast is a snap. I do this with regular pancakes and the family favorite, Chocolate!
I realize that my favorite times with my family are the simplest ones. We enjoy a vacation together now and then, but an afternoon spent walking around our neighborhood or reading together are just as fun. Those times build the best memories that I hope my children will take with them as well.
We try our best to stay on top of vehicle maintenance. We change the oil regularly (with some guidance from the friendly reminder on our dashboard) and check the tire pressure often. I watch for coupons from out local oil change establishments and they often check tire pressure and fluid levels as well.
As we are now in the midst of cold and flu season, I am reminded that we need to be grateful for our good health. It isn't something we often think about until we are sick.Look here to see how to join Thrifty Thursday.

This little cookie has become a yearly tradition. They couldn't be simpler and I hope you get a chance to make them. They have made it onto my Menu Plan for the week.
We recently acquired one of our most frugal fun finds. We got giant bouncy balls for the kids. They were 50 cents each and it has been one of the best dollars I've spent in a long time. They are mandated as outside toys, but the kids and the dog have been chasing these for hours! We've also used them to create other games using hopscotch squares and some very creative rules.
On this GratiTuesday, I'm reminded of how grateful I am when we have time to play. With back to school and all of the activities involved, we are often so busy. I like when we take time to step away from all of that and just play together. Whether we are working on a craft, playing a board game or just dancing around to music, it helps us reconnect.
